Electrode Induction Melting Gas Atomization Equipment

Working principle of electrode induction melting gas atomization equipment: Under vacuum or inert gas protection, the slowly rotating feedstock rod is heated by high frequency induction coil and melted inductively and continuously in the absence of crucible. Then the molten metal falls free, flows into atomization system and is crushed into a large number of small liquid droplets by high pressure inert gas from atomizer spray plate. Then small liquid droplets are solidified into spherical powders in flight.

Electrode induction melting gas atomization equipment is suitable to produce high temperature and high purity alloy powder, such as titanium and Ti alloy, nickel and Ni alloy, Chrome and Cr alloy, etc.

Components

Electrode induction melting gas atomization equipment is composed of raw material rod feeding system, high frequency induction heater, high frequency power supply, high-pressure gas atomizer, high-pressure gas source and control system, atomization tower, vacuum system, powder separation and collection system, water cooling system, electrical control system, etc.

Electrode induction melting gas atomization technology (EIGA) is a process in which prefabricated alloy rods are used as electrodes, and rotating rod electrodes are melted by induction melting and atomized. From the working principle of electrode induction melting gas atomization technology, it can be seen that the advantage of EIGA method is that it does not need to use a crucible for melting, it is a crucible less melting technology, which can reduce doping of other metals or non-metallic impurities in the melting process, and greatly improve purity of the final powder. However, the shortcomings of the EIGA technology are also obvious. Production and procurement costs of prefabricated alloy bars are higher than alloy ingot. Composition uniformity of the bar alloy has a great impact on the chemical composition of powder after atomization. It is difficult to control melting rate of the metal bar, metal liquid "cut off" phenomenon and even "broken rod" phenomenon are usually happen in the production process.
